[Action Thread] Students and Faculty. Mizukage Beach.
Characters Involved: All.
Venue: Mizukage Beach.

Asuma stepped off of the bus, the sun's rays bouncing off of the dark lenses of the sunglasses that were perched up on the bridge of his nose. Sighing heavily, he took one last sweet drag from his cigarette and flung it into a near by receptacle. He would complain about the rules of the beach later on his own time. It would be annoying not being able to fling anything to the ground today, but it was a small price for a day at the beach.

He spotted the students and teachers assembled and ready for further instructions, so he hurried along as to not delay the events scheduled for the day. Holding a stack of papers in one arm and a bag in the other, he began passing out supplies to the various students before him. "I trust that most of you have read the rules and know who your partners are. And if not, I at least hope that one of your partners does. But just to make sure I will go over the basics right now. You are to complete this packet provided by the staff from Mizukage Institute of Microorganisms. As you will read, you will need to take some water samples from various spots on the beach. You are to follow the instructions on the packet to see if there is any form of water contamination from your selected spots. There will be questions that follow concerning the color of the water, the presence of visible contamination, and for non-visible contamination. You will determine the non-visible contamination by using a chemical test."

Asuma's hand dug into the bag at his side, and produced a small test tube filled with a deep green colored liquid. "You will receive five of these tubes for the five specific locations you will be going to. Make sure to label these tubes properly, or you will end up having to recollect your data if you mix theme up. Just take a tiny sample of water that you collect and place it in this tube. Make sure to close it off. At this time you are to let these tubes sit for an hour and see if the tube turns yellow. If the contents do not turn yellow, the water is normal and healthy to swim in. If it does turn yellow, please make sure to label it properly so that the Institute can perform studies on the area you received the sample from."

Emptying out the bag, he handed the supplies to each and every students. Empty bottles and green bile test tubes were handed out to the various students, along with the questionnaires, maps of the beach and areas to be tested. "Lastly, return all tests and packets back to your designated teacher. From that point on you are allowed to wonder around, but do not take that as a signal to goof off and mess up the beach. I'll hunt you down myself if that is the case," he muttered in irritation as he glared at a selected few. "With that said, you are now allowed to start. In the event you have a question, don't hesitate to speak with one of the teachers."

Orochimaru hated a lot of things. He even made a specific list of these things. The beach, the harsh rays from the sun, and the annoying spray of the ocean only proved to rank each a little higher on that list.

His pale skin already felt as if it were about to burn and sizzle. Where was that blasted sunscreen? If he left it behind on his desk at school, he was clearly doomed to suffer from sunburn the rest of the week. He shook his head in frustration, it had to be somewhere.

While he attempted to search for the bottle, Asuma had already finished the small briefing, and his group had yet to receive the question booklets that he was supposed to hand out to them. The next thing he knew, Hayate was ready to provide some help to Ino. Muttering a few incoherent things to himself, he stalked over to the two, and handed Ino the necessary materials for her and Kin. Thankfully Kin was there, he could certainly tolerate her for the rest of the afternoon.

"There, that is for both you and Kin," he said to Ino, and then he turned to Hayate. He almost began to regret having to ask him, "Hayate, do you have any sunscreen you can spare?"

His eyes took a good look at the teacher. He had seen him around the school several times and heard talk about him from students but Hayate did not know who Orochimaru was aside from appearance and name. A brief cough took place as the man handed what was intended for the two girls.

"I do Orochimaru-san." Cough. "One moment please." A coupled of hacking coughs could of been heard on his way back to the transportation bus where Hayate's bag of belongings were. He would have to make 'friends' with teachers here if he was going to avoid awkward moments that took place in the teacher's lounge. His hand shuffled through the bag and was soon able to locate a bottle of sunscreen. Another breath of air was taken in as another cough escaped.

"Here. You may keep it if you please." Hayate said handing over the plastic bottle. The walk back to the two girls and teacher was about the same was it was to walk to the bus.

Ino grit her teeth lightly; she was never really a fan of random men coming up to make small-talk with her, regardless as to whether or not they were an instructor to be respected. Still, he was a teacher and she would have to give him the respect that his position demanded. The somewhat tense look on her face softened, lips forming into a gentle smile as she turned to face Hayate. Motioning to reply back to him, she found herself being interrupted from her assigned teacher, Orochimaru.

"Oh~" She muttered out of habit as her attention shifted to the other man. Pausing, before speaking, she gazed upon his astoundingly pale skin and couldn't help but almost feel sorry for him. That man needs either a tanning bed or massive amounts of sunscreen! She thought, as she absently reached out for the materials that he had given her.

"Thanks!" Her cheerful voice replied, lips curling into a delicate, almost sympathetic, smile. Once the pleasantries of speaking with the teachers had passed, her eyes jumped from the two adults and instead glanced between the students; just where was Kin, anyway?

Slipping an arm around the blonde girls shoulder, Kin sighed and took one of the tubes out of her hands. Dark eyes, shielded from her sunglasses looked the tube over and she moved away to groan, "So we get samples, see if the shit turns yellow and fill this packet out?"

Kin glanced between Orochimaru, Ino, Hayate and had to stiffle an amused laugh. Giving their assigned teacher a quick wink she turned back to Ino and rolled her eyes, "Come on, blondie. Lets get this shit going. Then you can tan...or do whatever the hell it is you girls do on the beach."

Kin had never really, ever talked to Ino. She kind of always saw her as all the other blonde girls around school. Annoying, loud and way too into themselves. If it weren't for a few that were like Tayuya, Kin probably would have ended up in a nuthouse. Then there were some of the cool teachers... Kin nearly had a squealing fit when she found out Orochimaru was their assigned teacher for this little trip.

Taking the packet from Ino, she looked it over and started walking off in the direction of the first location. "Yo. Teach. You coming?" She called over her shoulder and kicked some of the sand with the toe of her shoe.

Well, that persona was certainly not something that Ino had anticipated from someone like Kin; she'd nearly expected her to be quiet, antisocial and not at all willing to even touch Ino the way she had. Shrugging it off, she followed the girl's path, not looking back to see if their teacher would be following them to monitor their progress. All she was worried about about was not spending the entire afternoon participating in scholastic activities while at the beach.

"Let's just get this overwith; I don't want to be playing with these stupid test tubes all day!" She scoffed, picking up the speed of her walking, just slightly, as she headed towards the first testing-location. Sighing quietly, she thought further on what Kin had assumed about her: Ino wasn't completely all about her skin; if anyone needed work on something like that, it would be that terribly pale teacher of theirs. There were other things in life that she'd cared about, such as having a good time and showing off her killer-figure to her peers.

Kin was never really - quiet, so to speak. Anti-social, very much so. She liked to be alone, mostly due to her short tolerancy for majority of the people around her. Tayuya, Dei and Sasori were the exception. Only half way paying attention to where she was going, Kin looked the papers over once more, stepping over some crunchy folliage that was found in the sand, biting the tip of her thumb.

"Ino. We'll get this shit done ASAP. Don't worry. I don't give a shit about swimming around in this water." The brunette said tossing the packet somewhere dry when they finally reached the site, kneeling close to the water she held a hand out to Ino and said, "Give me one of those stupid tubes."

Giving a casual nod, Ino pulled one of the test tubes out from the contraption that had been keeping it, and the others, steady, and gently tossed it towards her partner. Once the glass left her hands, she moved closer to the girl, kneeling near the water beside them.

"Alright," she started, setting aside the unnecessary utensils, "Once we get the water into that tubey-thing, we just have four more before waiting around for them to change a different color!" She rolled her eyes, thinking that the more she participated in the assignment, the more lame it ultimately sounded. Shifting uncomfortably, Ino felt less-than useful before finally standing up, and sheepishly placing her hands upon her hips. "Maybe this will go faster if we split up~"
